Entry # I Lost Count
Date: 01/13/2018
Journal! What’s going on buddy!
Ha. I guess it’s been a while since I picked you up, huh? Did ya’ miss me!? I bet you did. Truthfully, I missed ya’ as well. Ha, you are probably wondering why I haven’t I touched you in a long while. I didn’t mean to neglect you, it’s just, well, it’s because it’s been a while since I’ve wrestled full time.
How many months has it been now? Geez, let me run through stuff real quick. Alright, my last match in Hard Knox Wrestling was June 11th. It’s currently January. That’s about seven months, give or take a couple of days.
Shit, that has been a long time.
Although, I suppose I could have written about me and Fujiko’s ventures in Japan for KAMIKAZE Pro. Fun times, fun times. They were also very busy times. Press conferences, photograph and other media stuffs, selling merch, chatting with the fans—it was a wild trip. The only time that we had to really let our hair down was when we traveling from city to city; and as you can imagine, that time was filled with food and sleeps.
Maybe I’ll do a retrospective entry on that trip down the line. Me and Fujiko aint win the tag team league, but we did take down a couple of high level names. I would be worth recounting. Yeah, that sounds swanky.
But, I digress. I guess there’s one massive elephant in the room, huh journal? If I’m writing and showing you love right now, then that must mean that I’ve inked a new deal.
You’d be correct!
I’ll be debuting for Phoenix Wrestling in a little over a week. January 23rd, to be exact.
The next question on your mind might be, “why Phoenix Wrestling?” Well well, you are in luck today. I’ve got an answer for you. Actually, I’ve got a couple of answers for you. I guess I’ll tackle them in order of most pressing.
1. Boats ‘N Throws 2017: I mentioned this to the fans in attendance and everyone watching at home, but Boats ‘N Throws had been the first time I’d wrestled since I left HKW. After that hellacious match with DeMarcus, I had to let my body heal. And I did. But when I felt healed and confident again, I leapt right back in.
Boats ‘N Throws as a whole was an amazing experience. When my music hit for the first time and I made my way down through the stands? Well, the crowd was absolutely insane. It was one of the most vocal crowds I’ve ever had the pleasure of working in front of—and the majority of them were chatting my name. There was a lot of love on that boat, and I appreciated all of it.
The match itself? It was a blast. And my performance? I can’t tell you how many calls, texts, and emails I received. And all of them basically said more of the same-I looked as if I’d never taken any time off. Hell, in some regards, it seemed like I’d improved. Wild right? I mean, I went toe to toe with Aurora and held my own. And let’s not forget, I nearly won the whole damn thing…
I won’t forget that.
2. The Lineage: While Phoenix may have gone through a resurgence a couple of years ago, it is not a young company by any means. No no no. Phoenix is a mighty promotion with a massively crazy history. It was a promotion I grew up watching when I was just a fan. Now that I’ve got an opportunity to work there, why wouldn’t I take advantage? I’d be a fool not to.
3. The Matchups: I love competition; that’s no secret at this point. And Phoenix has a great deal of competition in it. Specifically, there is list of people that I’d love to mix it up with. The first on that list? That shouldn’t be a secret either...
Me and Aurora have grown close after our battle at Boats ‘N Throws. And our new found closeness makes me desire to fight her even more now. I need that one on one; and that can happen at Phoenix. She isn’t the only one I’m dying to face. Off the top of my head, there’s: Sophie, Masaru Inoue Hirooki Rajin, Jade, Mason Daniels, Frisky D. Oh, and Cassius Reed, of course.
3. My Welcoming: Like I said before, the reaction I got at Boats ‘N Throws was out of this world. It was almost as if I went a free agent or an outsider. Phoenix and its fans welcome me with open arms. They made me feel as if I was already home. That was an amazing feeling, you know?
4. The Call: The LeCavaliers have this saying. I’ve heard it from papa Norman and Uncle Ethan. That being, professional wrestling is a seductive mistress. That statement couldn’t ring anymore true. Did I enjoy my time off? Hell yeah I did. Who wouldn’t love the freedom to do what you want, whenever you want? It’s invigorating. And it wasn’t like I was being lazy or unproductive. I’ve been bringing in good money with my Renati and Quaq Inc. Twitch streams. But eventually, professional wrestling called out to me once more. I answered that call when I signed to Phoenix, of course. I couldn’t ignore it or put it on hold any longer.
I could just down a couple more reasons, but I think you get the idea, Journal my good bud. Working with Phoenix was just an amazing chance. I had to take it. And perhaps, perhaps I needed to make up for coming up short at Boats ‘N Throws.
We can talk about that in detail another time.
Do I have a goal in mind, besides my desired list of matches? Of course I do. You can’t step into a new promotion without a game plan. That would be crazy. I’ll talk about that goal in a later entry as well. There’s something in particular that I need to accomplish. Something that I need to do…
But that will be talked about in due time. And I don’t mean way down the line. Soon, soon. But Journal, I must be going. I’ve surprised Ms. Aurora with a surprise visit and my uber is pulling up to her place. We shall speak more soon.
I promise.
