Rebirth
To be reborn, whether in the literal or figurative sense of the word. There was so many symbols of it; so many stories that glorified it. The reality though was that being reborn was so rare. Most storied ended in failure; most ended with the protagonist falling back on there old, self destructive ways. Truth of the matter is that most people don't have the balls and the strength to keep pushing, to keep persevering through the hard times ahead; they don't keep at it to the point at which they succeed.
Mason was determined to not be that man. Over the last few years he had been reborn, he had grown and become better. A year ago he fell to Rowyn and almost lost his life. Since then he had evolved; he had learned new tricks and tactics. He had found himself a new ally in Rowyn's sister, and he had turned her against him. Mason stood victorious against his greatest foe, and with his victory he had taken his sister as his personal play thing.
With Rowyn gone, the world was his to concur; Phoenix Wrestling was his for the taking. In his eyes, there was no one person truly capable of stopping him; not Aurora, not Masaru, not even Cassius Reed. There was nothing that would stop him because there was nothing that he wouldn't do to succeed. He proved that in defeating his greatest adversary. Mason was truly a force of chaos in the world now. He was not looking to accomplish anything more then to just disrupt and destroy everything around him.
He wanted everyone in Phoenix Wrestling to experience the pain and agony that he had suffered and endured throughout his entire career. The War Hound was going to turn this place upside down and burn it to the ground. Since his Phoenix Wrestling return, he had been carving a path of destruction through the company that had given him his first real opportunity in the industry. It was where he had gotten his cult following. Those who knew him back then would have never imagined him becoming the man that he is today.
The journey to the man that he has become was a long and painful one. It had been filled with betrayal and loss; all attributing to his spiraling down into a deep psychosis. He had always fought hard and with honor; but now, he still fought hard, but there was no line that he wouldn't cross. He would use those you loved against you; he would attack your weaknesses and injuries relentlessly. Mason literally gave zero fucks and would take joy in ending some one's career if he ever got the opportunity. At Under the Colosseum Lights, that would be a very real danger for his opponent. Frisky D would have to keep that in mind when she steps into the ring with him; she would have to keep that in mind as she stands across the ring from a man intent on dismantling her piece by piece. For many, Under the Colosseum Lights would be an ending; it would bring closure to many of the power struggles across the board. For Mason, he planned on it just being the beginning; the beginning of a dark era for all of Phoenix Wrestling.
* * * * *
The scene opens up inside a suite of an unknown hotel in Las Vegas. The room is massive with formal sitting room and kitchen that are separated from the bedroom. In the sitting room, Mason Daniels can be seen sitting in a chair, wearing a pinstripe suit and no tie, the top few buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, exposing the tattoos at the top of his chest. On his lap was Crystal, who could be seen all dolled up and looking as gorgeous as ever. She was wearing a rather tight and revealing mini skirt and tight button down shirt that was tied up with a knot at the bottom just under her chest.
Mason's hand was placed firmly on the small of her back, his other hand on her cheek as they stared into each others eyes. It was an eerie and creepy scene for sure. They held each others gaze for some time before one of them finally up and spoke.
Mason: Are you ready to finally make your debut on the biggest stage of them all my pet.
Crystal: Oh yes sugar. I can't wait. That little bitch won't know what hit her. She thought she was so clever; she thought she was so smart singling you out and trying to get you in a one on one match with your career on the line. But you showed her. You got her to agree to a hardcore match and now we are going to pick her apart. When we're done, her own family won't be able to recognize her.
Mason: When I am done. You, I need you to make sure that this isn't a set up. I made it a hardcore match and I have made more then enough enemies here. I need you to set up some diversions my love, I need you make sure that no one comes down to that ring besides her.
Crystal: Ooooh, that could be fun. What did you have in mind?
Mason: Why would I take all of your fun away. Why don't you figure out how to handle making sure no one interferes in this match that I don't want interfering, got it.
Crystal: Of course Pumpkin. This should be fun, getting to run around, causing mayhem all on my own.
Mason chuckles slightly as he pulls Crystal in and kisses her rather patiently, slides his hand down to her buttocks, giving it a squeeze.
Mason: You really are everything I could have hoped for and so much more. Who would have ever known that my wanting to destroy your brother's career would lead me to finding the most amazing woman. You really are deplorable, you know that.
Crystal: Awww, shucks hun, I only learned from the best.
Mason: What can I say, you're the best student I could ask for. Always eager to please, sticking around for extra credit; it doesn't hurt your grade that you do some pretty unspeakable things for me behind closed doors.
Crystal: I'm sure we've done some of those things in a few public places.
Mason: Yeah...yeah we have.
Crystal slides her legs slightly and begins to straddle Mason, placing her hands behind his neck.
Mason: Not right now sweetheart. There is still one more thing that has to be done tonight. Why don't you go to the bedroom and I will be in there shortly.
Crystal: And then you'll be in there for a long time.
Mason just smirks before slapping her ass as Crystal walks off and heads into the bedroom. As she does, Mason just looks towards the camera.
Mason: Let me guess, you all were hoping for a little bit of a show; and trust me, that little freak right there, she would have given it to you; but she is all mine. Now, onto the real matter at hand, Frisky D. Yeah, that little nobody who thinks she can rain on my parade. Too bad I am going to have to break her hopes and spirits and send her home packing without a job. It's actually going to be quite fun if I do say so myself.
Frisky, Frisky, Frisky; you really did think that you could just walk into the ring, call me out, and walk away on top. No my dear, that is not going to be the case. Phoenix Wrestling is and always has been my stomping grounds. It was me that brought in the crowds and made this place the legend that it became. I was the one that kept the fans coming in and what did this place and all the others do, they turned on me. This place wouldn't be shit without me.
I remember stepping into the ring years ago when they held this bad boy at the real Colosseum in Rome. I remember stepping into some of the most outrageous matches that this company could throw at me. I used to be The Dean of Extreme, and I earned that title with every match I fought. That is something you are going to learn the hard way when we meet in the ring. You will find that I am a hard man to take out; you will find that I am a hard man to keep down; and you will find that I am damn near impossible to break and defeat.
I get it Frisky, you want revenge. For you, this is payback; for you this match is personal. For me, this match is nothing. You are but a blip on my radar. You were collateral damage in a bigger fight, a bigger war. You are just a very small part of the bigger picture. You have no idea what is really going on and now you've stepped into the middle of my sights. You see, when I bashed you in the throat with that baseball bat, you were just an innocent bystander. Now all of my attention is on you.
Now, don't think I am stupid. I know there is a lot of pressure on you from management to make sure that you send me packing out of Phoenix Wrestling. I know that the management would love nothing more then to see my path of destruction be put to an end. So I know that you are going to have a few tricks up your sleeve, and as will I, because I am no where close to being done with this place. I won't be done until I have burnt this place to the ground so badly that there is no way it shall rise from the ashes; and I am not going to let some little girl get in the way of me doing just that.
So Frisky, I hope you weren't banking on being the hero this go around because I am going to have to sorely disappoint. Mason Daniels isn't going anywhere just yet, but you..you most certainly are. At Under the Colosseum Lights, I am going to walk down that ramp and crawl into that ring. I am going to unleash all kinds of hell upon you and when it is all said and done, when I have finally punished you enough for even thinking that you are in the same league as me; once I have finished unloading blow after blow, hit after hit...after I have finished giving you the pounding of your life; after you have begged me to stop, only then will I drop to the mat and end your miserable excuse of a career by pinning you ONE...TWO....THREE!
So go ahead and have your bags packed Frisky, because Under the Colosseum Lights will be your last hoorah, not mine. I plan on having many, many more. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a differently kind of pounding to go do; and just like you, it won't be over until she's begging and tapping out too.
Mason smirks as he gets up from the chair and makes his way to the bedroom, closing the door behind him as a commotion begins behind it.
