Phoenix Wrestling Bio
Full Name(include any nicknames): 'The Mastermind' Veronica Valiant (middle name Vivian, rarely heard)
Pic Base: Tricia Helfer
Theme Song: Garbage - 'The World Is Not Enough'
Alignment(Face, heel, tweener): Heel
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 134lbs
DOB: April 5th,
Mindset
Personality: Unscrupulous, retired Fortune 500 CEO and wily ring vet fuelled by duelling superiority/inferiority complexes. Veronica was an enormously successful businesswoman, and her previous wrestling run yielded successes that anyone could take pride in, yet she still isn't satisfied. Though she claims to be better than all around her, there's always a nagging voice at the back of her head telling her it's still not good enough, and so she can never rest, not so long as there's even one person out there who won't bow in reverence at her passing by. A lonely and tragic individual made impossible to sympathize with by her insistence on shielding herself behind an impenetrable wall of catty remarks and callous behaviour.
Strengths: Exceptional mat technician; skilled at psychological warfare; willing to cheat and sly enough to get away with it.
Weaknesses: Prone to gloating when in control; age and old cardiac surgery causes inconsistent cardio in long matches.
Match Tendencies: Tends to aim strikes for physical weak points - throat, kidneys, hamstring etc. Will abuse rest holds to keep opponents grounded as long as possible. Moves cagily, as she knows her weaknesses and works around them. Almost no aerial game at all - thinks it's silly. Little respect for rules and is quite happy to get the duke on technicalities - a win's a win in the history books, and that's all that matters for her.
Backstage Tendencies: Overbearing smugness. Hates to be disturbed but loves to interrupt anyone else. Avoids risk of physical injury when not in a match. Master of backhanded compliments. Little respect for others but good at faking it, usually to broker a temporary alliance.
Ring Attire: Veronica keeps her white-blonde hair tied back into a ponytail that reaches the base of her neck, with two bangs at the front curving down toward her cheeks. Her lip gloss is maroon in colour. She wears a one-piece outfit made from a form-fitting rubberised material, in a dark blue/silver colour, with sizable open areas around the shoulders, back and midsection. It has three buckled straps and a ‘bra’ of similar material across the front to keep it on. The gloves are made of similar material; these are a 'wine red' colour and reach past her elbows, also featuring numerous buckles. Her boots have a short heel, are the same colour as the one piece, and reach up to the middle of her thighs, with the laces running all the way up the front before tying at the top. (it's basically this but not on a toy) Also wears a black suit jacket over the top for entrances.
Moveset
Wrestling Style: Submission technician/dirty brawler, about 70/30 balance
Will he/she use weapons?: Yes
Top Five Moves:
+ Brought to Heel (Veronica catches one of her opponent's arms in a Hammerlock then uses a sharp kick to the shin to bring them down to their knees. She then plants one foot firmly on the back of the opponent's neck and pushes down while pulling the twisted arm upward. Submission hold.)
+ The P45 (Overhead Uranage Slam into Anaconda Vise. Submission hold.)
+ Mile High Club (Released Pump-Handle Suplex - i.e. starts like a Pump-Handle Slam, but then Veronica throws herself onto her back, throwing the opponent overhead like a Fallaway Slam.)
+ Code Veronica (Dragon Sleeper on seated opponent, usually rolled over so Veronica sits on their back a la Camel Clutch midway. Submission hold.)
+ Profit and Loss (Reverse-spinning sweep kick transitions into a falling Splits Axe Kick, bringing Veronica's calf down on the opponent's throat.)
Finisher(s):
+ Budget Cutter (From behind opponent, places both hands on their shoulders, kicks off the ground and essentially pulls a brief handstand on top of them before falling to the front, shifting grip to catch their head on the way down and drop them with an elevated Diamond Cutter neckbreaker.)
+ Market Crash (Big match finish. With her opponent forced into the corner, Veronica will lift them up to sit on the turnbuckle in the typical Superplex starting position, before slipping through the ropes and getting up on the corner behind them. She then grips the opponent in a Full Nelson hold, pulls them to their feet, and jumps back down to the ring, tucking her legs up to her chest midway, so that the opponent lands face-first with all of Veronica's weight driven down onto their spine through the points of her knees.)
